In most of my holidays, I go to visit my family members in my hometown. For my job, I am currently residing in the capital city of my country but my parents, siblings, grandparents, uncle and aunts are living in our hometown. So in most of my holidays, I go to visit my family members. My typical holidays last for 4-5 days most of the time and sometimes I get longer holidays.
When I was a university student, I had some friends studying in the same faculty who were from my hometown. During my university study we used to go to our hometown together on our vacations but nowadays I go to my hometown mostly alone. The journey takes about 6-7 hours by bus. Sometimes we travel by train and this train journeys usually take 8-9 hours including the stoppage. Though the journey is tiresome sometimes, but the thought of meeting my family members and the excitement of being in the place I really love, wash away the tiresomeness and monotonous feeling of the journey. The time I stay with my family members and local friends, I enjoy the moments very much. This is the town where I grew up and naturally all of my childhood & adolescence memories are related to this place. I do lots of interesting things there during my holidays: I swim in the river, take care of the garden and firm we have, collect vegetables and fruits from our garden and then make arrangements to sell those to the local sellers, sometimes I catch fished, play with my friends both indoor and outdoor games, visit different places and do lots of other stuff.
In my city life, I have to follow a strict timeline and stay at my office most of the time, but in my hometown where I mostly go during my holidays, I am quite free and do whatever I feel like doing and spend time with the people I care most. That's why I prefer to go to my hometown during my holidays rather than going to other places.

Five years back, people were not much concerned about their holidays. Bu now, people give more importance for their holidays, especially in the planning stage. In addition, in the past people spent maximum one or two days for holidays. At present, one week is considered as a minimum span of time for holidays. The selection holiday destinations have also changed.
Yes, often it is said that life is becoming stressful and the statement is true. Life was simple in the past. People had fewer needs and they could enjoy the company of their family and friends. They wanted to enjoy life to the fullest extent. With the passage of time, we have moved into the modern world and our needs and expectations are increasing gradually. We cannot be satisfied with what we have and want more. The hunger for more and more is basically liable to create a sense of discomfort among us. So, we work more than usual hours. We take unnecessary stress to earn more and have a life where the money will be plenty. Finally, we start feeling discomfort, and the stress grabs us. And this becomes a cycle we cannot break and it continues. Thereby, we cannot enjoy life and become even more stressed.

Well, travelling is fun indeed. But the fun could be extended if a traveller does some homework before starting the trip. First of all, a traveller should collect the local map he is willing to travel to know about the surrounding and interesting locations. Arranging for local currency is the other important task. Often travellers fall in trouble with currency exchange and it is wise to exchange currency before commencing. Further, if possible, they should also arrange for a guided tour which would be beneficial for them to know everything about the locality. And the other most important thing is to let others know about the trip or where they are travelling. Such initiatives would be helpful to trace them back in case of emergencies. Doing some internet research to know about the people of the destination and their customs is also recommended.

Yes, I think travelling would be more fun and common in the future. Countries blessed with natural beauties or of historical importance will take necessary measures to make travelling easier in those countries. In fact, inviting tourists in a country has some positive benefits and helps the country to grow in different dimensions. Expansion of local industries, reputation, spreading local cultures amid global people etc. are some of them. Therefore, it appears that respective governments will adopt required policies in this regard. People might feel interested in historical and natural objects in tourist spots. They also may want to know about the local customs and cultures because, with the passing of time, people are becoming inquisitive. They want to know more and share knowledge. Hence, they will prefer the places or things which have informational values.
